Program

Chalk is operated by Heavytail Labs, LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company. When you opt in to SMS alerts, you agree to receive automated text messages from Heavytail Labs, LLC (“Chalk”) at the mobile phone number you provide.

Message Types

Chalk sends the following types of SMS messages:

Halftime analytics alerts: Regime classification, model signals, margin forecasts, and confidence intervals for games matching your configured filters.
Account notifications: Phone number verification codes and subscription status changes.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies with live game activity. On game days, you may receive up to 10 messages per day depending on how many games match your alert filters. No messages are sent on days without games. Typical usage is 1–5 messages on active game days.

Costs

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. Heavytail Labs, LLC does not charge separately for SMS alerts — they are included with your Pro and Syndicate subscriptions.

Opt-In

You opt in to SMS alerts through the following steps in your account settings (requires a Syndicate subscription):

Navigate to Settings → SMS Alerts
Enter your US mobile phone number in E.164 format
Check the SMS consent checkbox, which discloses message types, frequency, rates, and links to these SMS Terms, the Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service
Click “Send Code” to receive a one-time 6-digit verification code via SMS
Enter the code to verify ownership of your number
Toggle “Enable SMS Alerts” to activate notifications for your configured strategy filters

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing or using Chalk. You may use the service without enabling SMS alerts.

Opt-Out

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying to any message with any of the following keywords:

STOP
CANCEL
UNSUBSCRIBE
END
QUIT

After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message and no further messages will be sent. You may also disable SMS alerts from your account settings.

Opt Back In

To resubscribe after opting out, reply START or YES to any previous message, or re-enable SMS alerts from your account settings.

Privacy

Your mobile phone number is collected solely for delivering SMS alerts and account verification. We will not sell, rent, loan, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in/opt-out data with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Your phone number is removed from our systems when you disable SMS alerts or delete your account. SMS consent records are retained for a minimum of 5 years from the date of consent or opt-out, as required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

Supported Carriers

SMS alerts are available to US mobile phone numbers. Major carriers supported include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and most US carriers. Carrier participation is not guaranteed. Heavytail Labs, LLC is not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages due to carrier issues.
